Ron Pelger is a former produce executive of a major supermarket chain and now owner/CEO/President of RonProCon, a produce industry consulting service. He is a fully experienced industry professional who learned the produce business from the countryside farms of Ohio, where he was born and raised, to New York City and New England where he learned and worked "in the trenches." He is an industry consultant, writer, speaker, and editor/publisher of Power-Produce.com, a popular industry Website.

His experience encompasses such working areas as the supermarket store level, produce buying, field supervision, and the executive management level of produce and floral operations. He has retail merchandising skills connected with consumers and understands their shopping needs and trends.

Ron’s experience has covered all levels of both retail procurement and merchandising. Having spent over 30 years linked to numerous phases of the food industry, especially produce, gives him an edge in the business.
