Ron Pelger is a produce industry consultant as well as a website publisher based in Reno, Nevada. He is also a writer and has a regular column in The Produce News titled, In the Trenches, which appears on a monthly basis.
- He was associated with a major supermarket chain as Director of Produce Merchandising and Procurement for over 30 years in marketing areas of Northern Ohio, New York City and all of New England.
- His responsibilities were in all phases of the produce operation including retail merchandising, procurement, training, advertising development, inventory levels, shrink control and presentation at store level.
- As a present day produce consultant, he is active in working with numerous retail supermarket chains, growers, shippers, packers, distributors and commodity boards in the U.S. and Canada.
